If you plan to use your fire pit on a wood deck, we recommend placing it over a protective pad or paving stones which can be purchased at your local hardware store.

This fire pit is treated with a protective rustic patina finish. Occasionally the patina finish may rub off onto hands, rugs, or other surfaces it comes into contact with. Once the first fire is burned the finish will etch into the steel and become part of the protective finish. At this time, if you wish to clean off the excess patina material on your fire pit, simply scrub lightly with water and a soft nylon brush then hose off any excess and let dry. Over time, this finish will darken to a beautiful burgundy color.

Too rusty
I did not think it would be so rusty. In fact, it looks like a rust bucket. I'm thinking the rust may eventually bleed onto our cement patio.

Everything was fantastic! EXCEPT--When my fire pit arrived, the grill grate and cover were not included. It was supposed to come with it. When I called, the girl who helped me was great! She made a phone call to the warehouse and then let me know that these items would be sent out right away. That was good to hear. They are supposed to be here next week. I would have given 5 stars except the order was not shipped complete the first time. But this company really has great customer service! I believe in great customer service they do it well at this company! I haven't had a chance to use the fire pit yet but am looking forward to this weekend.

We unpacked from box, added wood, and we were enjoying a roaring fire on a unseasonably cold day. The wildlife 'cut outs' added to the enjoyment. This is third firepit we've owned and is by far the best firepit we've owned.
